Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus || Spoken Word by Jefferson Bethke

A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it's core Jesus' gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth. Religion either ends in pride or despair. Pride because you make a list and can do it and act better than everyone, or despair because you can't do your own list of rules and feel "not good enough" for God. With Jesus though you have humble confident joy because He represents you, you don't represent yourself and His sacrifice is perfect putting us in perfect standing with God the Father.

Time To Get Zooited by Jhantu Randall

Throughout the past couple years almost every show, every stage and every event, I’ve come to see Zooited Gang grace the stage and solidify their name. From performing in venues that they hosted to just seeing them from the perspective as a fan, I can’t stress enough that they bring something different to the scene. With their set playlist I’ve witnessed them all grab the mic and set the place ablaze! Each performance has raised the bar for the other acts, because not only does Zooited Gang know who they are as a collective, they know who they are as individual artists. Always raising the energy of the crowd like a conductor, they know they're brand lies in the business that they run. Whether its merchandise, recording or other types of production, when they say they live hip hop, they don’t need to speak it their actions do all the necessary talking. Now we’ve come to the point where even though they move as one, each member of the group appears to be pursuing solo ventures as wel...

"Rep That West" Interview with Tha Artist Kali by Jhantu Randall w/ Blood, Sweat, & Tears music video

I met this artist at a gig about a year ago and we just seemed to click right away. Beyond his music, there was just a way he carried himself that drew me into highlighting his story. Without going in too deep, I found out through previous conversation that he had a link or connection to Snoop Dogg, so while I didn’t really dive into that, just the name recognition alone told me that ThaArtist Kali was definitely on the right path. We sat down at a random sports bar near Parkland, WA and I just turned on my recorder and began talking. I only intended for a 10 minute interview but we talked for almost an hour about all aspects of music and just life as an artist. Unfortunately, I had to condense the interview to roughly 1200 words or less so a lot of the interview wont be transcribed this time around. I will say that if you ever have a chance to attend one of Kali’s shows, take it. The man has a stage presence that allows him to own that stage whether he’s the opener or the anchor closi...

Article: Power & Passion by Jhantu Randall

From the first moment I heard those high energy rhymes accompanied by a hypnotizing melody, I knew I was hearing something that was truly unique. A mix of Tech N9ne with the passion of 2pac and the sensuality of Sade isn’t a blend you'd automatically think would work, but if there is any doubt, the music of Tazz Jones and Fasa Labree will definitely make you contemplate and re-evaluate all that you thought. The combination of all these elements causes these two shine a bit brighter when they’re elevated on the stage. This drive comes from both of their upbringings, Tazz Jones grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where he was the oldest of 10 kids. His journey into hip hop began when he entered the game as a dancer. He entered an after school program named “The Arena Playhouse” which put on musicals and other productions ranging from ballet and jazz to hip hop. During this time, he was blessed to write and perform his own play which he also wrote the songs for. At the age of 17, Tazz mov...
