Meet Pop Art Painter "Ieesha Naeema" from Chicago, Illinois

I am a Chicago native currently residing in Dallas, TX. I am a self-taught visual artist/painter working primarily in acrylic paint. All of the images in my work are drawn by hand. Currently, I paint musicians who have shaped both my childhood and adulthood. I strategically select color schemes that I feel represent each artist's sound/music, as well as the emotions I feel when listening to his/her music. Outside of my pop art celebrity work, I often paint my interpretations of black beauty, specifically focusing on the black woman. I use vibrant colors to showcase my ideas. Painting is therapeutic and allows me to express myself and bring to life the ideas I often carry in my mind. My ultimate goal is to become a full-time artist and continue sharing my gift with those around me.
