Audience participation is welcome! The event is led by local instructors Muito Tempo and Saracuru and will feature an introductory class taught by special guest, visiting Professora Sarara. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that incorporates dance, song, music and oral history. Its roots are traced back to various countries in Africa, and was developed by African slaves in Brazil. Join us for an afternoon of movement and music as we explore this Afro-Brazilian practice.
